House Bill 478

AN ACT TO EXEMPT FROM AD VALOREM TAXATION LEVIED BY A COUNTY A PORTION OF THE ASSESSED VALUE OF TAXABLE REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN A MUNICIPALITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.  

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  From and after January 1, 2019, twenty percent (20%) of the assessed value of taxable real property that is located within the corporate limits of a municipality shall be exempt from ad valorem taxation levied by the county in which the municipality is located.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2018.
