House Bill 452
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 49-15-64.2, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE A PERSON IN POSSESSION OF A VALID RECREATIONAL FISHING LICENSE TO RECREATIONALLY CATCH SHRIMP IN THE MARINE WATERS OF THIS STATE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 49-15-64.2, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
49-15-64.2. Any person in possession of a valid recreational fishing license shall be allowed to recreationally catch shrimp in the marine waters of the State of Mississippi with a cast net, but such person shall not take more than fifty (50) pounds of shrimp per person per day for personal consumption. The cast net shall not exceed twelve (12) feet in radius.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
