House Bill 266

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE ALFREDA LODGE ON THE CAMPGROUNDS OF ROOSEVELT STATE PARK IN MORTON, MISSISSIPPI, SHALL BE RENAMED THE ALFREDA-HARRIS LODGE, IN HONOR OF COACH CARL E. "SCUTT" HARRIS, SR.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Alfreda Lodge on the campgrounds of Roosevelt State Park in Morton, Mississippi, shall be renamed the Alfreda-Harris Lodge, in honor of the late Coach Carl E. "Scutt" Harris, Sr., in acknowledgment of his venerable service as a retired employee of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and park manager for Roosevelt State Park.  The Department of Finance and Administration, in conjunction with the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks shall prepare a distinctive plaque to be placed in a prominent place within the Alfrea-Harris Lodge, which states the background, accomplishments and service of Coach Harris to Roosevelt State Park and the State of Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
