House Bill 258
AN ACT TO REQUIRE A CERTAIN NUMBER OF WOMEN'S RESTROOMS AND DIAPER CHANGING AREAS IN STATE BUILDINGS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Each state building shall have twice the number of women's restrooms as men's restrooms, and there shall be one (1) baby diaper changing area each in one (1) women's restroom and in one (1) men's restroom.
The provisions of this section shall apply to all state buildings. Those buildings existing on July 1, 2010, are required to comply with the requirements of this section by July 1, 2013.
For the purpose of this section, the term "state building" means any building or other facility owned by the State of Mississippi, or by any agency, department or institution of the State of Mississippi, that is occupied or used by the State of Mississippi, any agency, department or institution of the State of Mississippi, any community or junior college district of the State of Mississippi, the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning of the State of Mississippi or any institution under the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning of the State of Mississippi.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
