House Bill 237

AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, AT THE REQUEST OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, TO PROVIDE FOR COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE RENEWALS IN EACH COUNTY SEAT AT LEAST ONE DAY PER MONTH; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  In addition to the requirements of Section 63-1-16, the Department of Public Safety, upon request of the board of supervisors, shall provide a commercial driver's license examiner to conduct commercial driver's license renewals at a location in each county seat for at least one (1) day every month.  The county shall furnish the office, heating and cooling, phone service and Internet connectivity at the location for the license examiner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
