AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO JUSHUN PAIGE OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Jushun Paige who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction on March 23, 2016, in Hinds County for the crime of carjacking, for which he was sentenced to a term of ten (10) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with seven (7) years of the sentence suspended, and three (3) years to serve.  He was paroled on August 23, 2016, and discharged on July 17, 2017.

     On July 20, 2020, in Hinds County, he was convicted of the crime of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, for which he was sentenced to serve a term of five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections and further serve five (5) years.  He was discharged on October 28, 2021.

     The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
