House Bill 1775
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GREENWOOD UTILITIES COMMISSION TO BOTTLE AND SELL WATER SOURCED FROM ITS MUNICIPAL SUPPLY DIRECTLY TO CONSUMERS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Greenwood Utilities Commission is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to bottle and sell water sourced from its municipal supply directly to consumers. The sell of such bottled water will diversify revenue streams, create local jobs and promote the high qualify of Greenwood's natural resources.
(2) The Greenwood Utilities Commission shall comply with all state and federal health, safety and labeling regulations governing bottled water production and distribution.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
