House Bill 1753

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COAHOMA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO SPRING INITIATIVE, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Coahoma County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute annually to Spring Initiative, Inc., a Mississippi nonprofit corporation that provides services to youth and families of the county, out of any available funds of the county, as such funds are available.

     (2)  The contribution authorized under subsection (1) of this section may occur if Spring Initiative, Inc., maintains its status as a Mississippi nonprofit corporation and as a 501(c)(3) organization under the laws, rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service and has filed federal and state tax returns, as required by such laws, in a timely fashion and has provided to the board of supervisors proof of such timely filing of such returns. 

     (3)  This section shall be repealed from and after September 30, 2020.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
