House Bill 1741
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BELZONI HUMPHREYS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION FOR THE PURPOSE OR FUNDING REPAIRS AND RESTORATION WORK AT THE CATFISH MUSEUM AND DEPOT THEATER IN THE CITY OF BELZONI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2025.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Belzoni Humphreys Development Foundation to assist in paying costs associated with repairs and restoration work at the Catfish Museum, a city-owned facility, and the attached Depot Theater in the City of Belzoni, which repairs and restoration work are necessary to enable the attractions to reopen to the public, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025.............. $ 200,000.00.
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue the warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
