House Bill 1725
AN ACT TO EXEMPT FROM AD VALOREM TAXATION LEVIED BY A COUNTY A PORTION OF THE ASSESSED VALUE OF TAXABLE REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN A MUNICIPALITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. From and after January 1, 2018, twenty percent (20%) of the assessed value of taxable real property that is located within the corporate limits of a municipality shall be exempt from ad valorem taxation levied by a county.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2017.
