AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO ANGELA PORTER-WILLIAMS OF AMITE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Angela Porter-Williams of Amite County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her conviction for the crime of embezzlement on September 19, 2006, in Pike County, Mississippi, for which she was sentenced to serve six (6) months on house arrest followed by five (5) years probation.  

     She was released to probation on March 18, 2007, and discharged from probation on June 23, 2008.  She completed all terms and conditions of her sentence. The Legislature is informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
