AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI, TO ADOPT A CITY ORDINANCE TO PERMIT THE USE OF GOLF CARTS AND LOW SPEED VEHICLES ON CITY STREETS UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Biloxi, Mississippi, are authorized, and empowered in their discretion, to adopt an ordinance to permit the operation of "golf carts" and "low speed vehicles," as those terms are defined and regulated under 49 CFR Section 571.500, on roads within the City of Biloxi on which the speed limit is less than twenty-five (25) miles an hour.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
