House Bill 1696
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO HEADSTART FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE LOCAL MATCHING SHARE NECESSARY FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY HEADSTART; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) per fiscal year, beginning fiscal year 2012, from any available funds of the county, for the purpose of providing the local matching share necessary for the continuation of the community social service and educational programs sponsored by Headstart, a nonprofit federal program.
(2) This section shall stand repealed from and after July 1, 2016.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
