AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE LOWNDES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, THE LOWNDES COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, AND/OR THE LOWNDES COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO TRANSFER ANY REAL PROPERTY AND/OR IMPROVEMENTS THEREON AMONGST AND BETWEEN EACH AND ALL OF THEM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Lowndes County, Mississippi, hereinafter referred to as the "county," acting by and through the Board of Supervisors of Lowndes County, Mississippi, hereinafter referred to as "board of supervisors," is authorized and empowered to sell, lease, trade, exchange or otherwise dispose of any real property and/or the improvements thereon owned by the county to the Lowndes County Industrial Development Authority, hereinafter referred to as the "authority," and/or the Lowndes County Economic Development District, hereinafter referred to as the "district," upon such terms and conditions and with or without consideration as the board of supervisors deems necessary and proper; and the county is further authorized to acquire by gift, purchase or otherwise from the authority and/or the district any real property and/or the improvements thereon and to own, hold, maintain, control, develop and dispose, by sale, lease, trade, exchange or otherwise, the real property and/or the improvements thereon for any purpose. SECTION 2. The authority is authorized and empowered to sell, lease, trade, exchange or otherwise dispose of any real property and/or the improvements thereon owned by the authority to the county and/or the district, upon such terms and conditions and with or without consideration as the authority deems necessary and proper; and the authority is further authorized to acquire by gift, purchase or otherwise from the county and/or the district any real property and/or the improvements thereon and to own, hold, maintain, control, develop and dispose, by sale, lease, trade, exchange or otherwise, the real property and/or the improvements thereon for any purpose.
SECTION 3. The district is authorized and empowered to sell, lease, trade, exchange or otherwise dispose of any real property and/or the improvements thereon owned by the district to the county and/or the authority, upon such terms and conditions and with or without consideration as the board of trustees of the district deems necessary and proper; and the district is further authorized to acquire by gift, purchase or otherwise from the county and/or the authority any real property and/or the improvements thereon and to own, hold, maintain, control, develop and dispose, by sale, lease, trade, exchange or otherwise, the real property and/or the improvements thereon for any purpose. SECTION 4. This act shall be deemed to be full and complete authority for the exercise of the powers herein granted and shall not be in derogation of any existing law of this state, but shall be considered additional, supplemental and alternative to any other authority granted by law.
SECTION 5. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
