AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO CATINA FAULKNER TAYLOR, OF MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Catina Faulkner Taylor, of Marshall County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her conviction on January 22, 1999, of two (2) counts for the crime of uttering forgery in Marshall County, Mississippi, and who was sentenced to serve two (2) years in the custody of the Department of Corrections with three (3) years probation. During her release from the Intensive Supervision Program, she violated the terms of her release and was sentenced on August 22, 2001, in Marshall County to the custody of the Department of Corrections of two (2) counts of uttering forgery, and sentenced to five (5) years for four (4) counts of uttering forgery. On April 3, 2002, she was sentenced to serve two (2) years in the custody of the Department of Corrections for the crime of identity theft, and sentenced to serve one (1) year with two (2) years probation. She completed all terms and conditions of her sentence on March 14, 2013. The Legislature is informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
