House Bill 1663

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF BOLIVAR COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO CERTAIN ROAD AND BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CONTRACTS MAY EXTEND BEYOND 30 DAYS FROM THE TERMINATION AND END OF THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AWARDING THE CONTRACTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Bolivar County, Mississippi, is authorized, in its discretion, to receive competitive bids and enter into the following road and bridge construction contracts:

          (a)  Bridge Replacement on Hilter Road over Big Bradford Bayou (Project No. LSBP 6(12));

          (b)  Bridge Replacement on Murphree Road over Hushpukena River (Project No. LSBP 6(14));

          (c)  Bridge Replacement on Sunrise Drive over Lead Bayou

(Project No. LSBP 6(15));

          (d)  Crosby Road Expansion (Project No. SAP 6(48));

          (e)  Bridge Number 001 Gilbert Road over Porter's Bayou;

          (f)  Bridge Number 027 Litton Road over Branch Pecan Bayou;

          (g)  Bridge Number 052 Litton Road over Pecan Bayou;

          (h)  Bridge Number 064 Ditch Bank Road over Ann Bayou;

          (i)  Bridge Number 152 Pemble Road over Big Bradford Bayou;

          (j)  Bridge Number 153 Pemble Road over Snake Creek;

          (k)  Bridge Number 182 Cutoff Road over Laban Bayou; and

          (l)  Bridge Number 234 Rena Lara Road over Branch of Bland Brake.

     (2)  The Board of Supervisors of Bolivar County may enter into contracts as authorized in this section for any length of time as may be determined by the board of supervisors regardless of whether the contracts may extend beyond thirty (30) days from the termination and end of the term of office of the members of the board of supervisors awarding the contracts.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
