House Bill 166

AN ACT TO RELEASE OWNERS OF REAL PROPERTY REQUIRED TO PURCHASE FLOOD INSURANCE ONLY DUE TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF ASSISTANCE UNDER THE KATRINA RECOVERY HOMEOWNER GRANT PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Any owner or owners of real property, and any subsequent owners of such real property, who are required to purchase flood insurance only due to the acceptance of assistance under the Katrina Recovery Homeowner Grant Program are released from such requirement.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
