AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF COLLINS, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO A LONG TERM POWER SUPPLY AGREEMENT WITH ANY PUBLIC UTILITY FOR UP TO TWENTY YEARS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Collins, Mississippi, which owns and operates a system, as defined under Section 21-27-11(b), Mississippi Code of 1972, for the distribution of electricity, is authorized to contract for the purchase of the supply of electric power for a term of up to twenty (20) years with any public utility which is organized under the laws of this state or any other state.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
