House Bill 160
AN ACT TO CREATE SECTION 99-43-8, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT A CRIME VICTIM HAS THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE A COPY OF THE INITIAL INCIDENT REPORT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 99-43-8, Mississippi Code of 1972:
99-43-8. Upon request, the victim has the right to receive, from the appropriate law enforcement agency, free of charge, a copy of the initial incident report of the case.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
