House Bill 1593

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY TO DONATE CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO NORTHEAST VOLUNTEER FIRE AND RESCUE, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Lauderdale County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to donate the following described real property to Northeast Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Inc., in order to allow improvements to be made to the fire station located on the property:

     Begin at the Northeast corner of Section 9, Township 7 North, Range 16 East, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, and run thence East 10.0 feet in the North line of Section 10, Township 7 North, Range 16 East to a point; run thence South 157.29 feet to a point; run thence South 46 degrees 21 minutes West 4.19 feet to a point; run thence North 86 degrees 10 minutes West 157.32 feet to a point; run thence North 149.66 feet to the North line of said Section 9; run thence East 150 feet in the North line of said Section 9 to the point of beginning; being located within and a part of the NE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section 9, Township 7 North, Range 16 East and a part of the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section 10, Township 7 North, Range 16 East, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, and containing 0.57 acres, more or less.

     (2)  Any deed or instrument of conveyance executed pursuant to the authority granted under this section shall contain a clause of reverter providing that title to the property will revert to Lauderdale County, Mississippi, if the property ceases to be utilized for a fire station.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
