AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF FORREST COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR RETARDED CITIZENS, BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI, THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, THE GULF PINE GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL, THE HATTIESBURG DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, INC., THE SALVATION ARMY, PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, THE PINEBELT ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT, THE HATTIESBURG LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL ASSOCIATION, PETAL OPTIMIST CLUB BASEBALL, FIRST TEE AND THE AIDS SERVICES COALITION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Forrest County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may provide and expend county funds from any available funds of the county, in an amount not to exceed Ninety-one Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($91,750.00) during calendar year 2014, for the purpose of providing funds necessary for the continuation of service programs provided by the Association for Retarded Citizens, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeast Mississippi, Boy Scouts of America, Gulf Pine Girl Scout Council, Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc., Salvation Army, Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Pinebelt Association for Community Enhancement (P.A.C.E.), Hattiesburg Little League Baseball Association, First Tee, Petal Optimist Club Baseball and the AIDS Services Coalition.
During calendar year 2014, funds to the organizations shall not exceed the amounts as follows:
Association for Retarded Citizens............... $ 2,030.00
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeast
Mississippi................................ $ 1,096.00
Boy Scouts of America........................... $ 2,030.00
Gulf Pine Girl Scout Council.................... $ 2,030.00
Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc........... $27,000.00
Salvation Army.................................. $ 2,436.00
Pearl River Valley Opportunity.................. $25,000.00
Pinebelt Association for Community Enhancement.. $ 8,528.00
Hattiesburg Little League Baseball Association.. $ 4,500.00
Petal Optimist Club Baseball.................... $ 4,500.00
First Tee....................................... $ 4,500.00
AIDS Services Coalition......................... $ 8,100.00
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
