House Bill 1539

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOWNDES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO LEASE CERTAIN COUNTY PROPERTY TO PALMER HOME FOR CHILDREN, A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, FOR THE BENEFIT OF DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Lowndes County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to lease certain county property to the Palmer Home for Children, a nonprofit organization, for nominal rent on terms to be agreed upon by the parties.

(2) The lease authorized under subsection (1) of this section may be entered into only if the facility is used as a nonprofit facility, and such facility is used for the benefit of disadvantaged children.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
