House Bill 1509

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, ACTING THROUGH THE BUREAU OF BUILDING, GROUNDS AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING VARIOUS REPAIRS AND RENOVATIONS AT STATE-OWNED FACILITIES, UNIVERSITIES AND COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGES FOR FISCAL YEARS 2015 AND 2016.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Capital Expense Fund to defray the expenses of the Department of Finance and Administration, acting through the Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management, for site and infrastructure improvements, general repairs and renovations, weatherization, demolition, roofing, environmental, mechanical, electrical and structural repairs required for state-owned facilities, universities and community and junior colleges, the repair and renovation of state-owned facilities, universities and community and junior colleges necessary for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the purchase and installation of necessary equipment, and related matters for the period beginning upon passage of this act and ending June 30, 2016.............. $ 25,000,000.00.

     No funds appropriated under this section shall be expended for institution/agency administrative costs, including, but not limited to, institution/agency employee salaries or travel.

     SECTION 2.  The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
