House Bill 1490

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER STANDARDS AND TRAINING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION ON AN ENHANCEMENT TO THE FALLEN OFFICERS MEMORIAL FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2015.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Law Enforcement Officers Monument Fund created by Section 39-5-71, Mississippi Code of 1972, to the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training, for the purpose of providing for the construction, under the supervision of the Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management of the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration, of an enhancement to the Mississippi Fallen Officers Memorial as provided in Section 2 of this act for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016..............$ 20,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  The money appropriated by Section 1 of this act shall be used for the construction of a monument enhancement to the Mississippi Fallen Officers Memorial authorized by Section  39-5-71, Mississippi Code of 1972, that consists of an artistic replication of a lion or group of lions that is substantially similar in likeness to a lion or group of lions that is located at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.

     SECTION 3.  The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money to the credit of the Law Enforcement Officers Monument Fund, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2015.
