House Bill 1474
AN ACT TO REQUIRE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ACCUSED OF CRIMES AGAINST ANOTHER PERSON TO BE PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Any law enforcement officer accused of any criminal offense against another person shall be placed on administrative leave while the accusation is investigated by the prosecuting authority. Such law enforcement officer shall not be reinstated until completely exonerated from such accusation.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
