House Bill 1460
AN ACT TO PROHIBIT ANY MUNICIPALITY, COUNTY, STATE AGENCY OR ANY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE FROM ADOPTING ANY ORDINANCE, RULE OR REGULATION THAT REQUIRES ANY PERSON TO OBTAIN OR OTHERWISE RECEIVE ANY VACCINATION FOR ANY PURPOSE; TO PROHIBIT ANY MUNICIPALITY, COUNTY, STATE AGENCY OR ANY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE FROM ADOPTING ANY ORDINANCE, RULE OR REGULATION THAT REQUIRES ANY EMPLOYER TO REQUIRE ANY EMPLOYEE OR CONTRACTOR OF THE EMPLOYER TO OBTAIN OR OTHERWISE RECEIVE ANY VACCINATION FOR ANY PURPOSE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) No municipality, county, state agency or any political subdivision of the state may adopt any ordinance, rule or regulation that requires any person to obtain or otherwise receive any vaccination for any purpose.
(2) No municipality, county, state agency or any political subdivision of the state may adopt any ordinance, rule or regulation that requires any employer to require any employee or contractor of the employer to obtain or otherwise receive any vaccination for any purpose.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
