House Bill 132

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 21-19-65, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE ANY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXPEND MONIES TO MATCH FUNDS FOR SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 21-19-65, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     21-19-65.  The governing authorities of any municipality or the board of supervisors of any county shall have the power to expend monies from the municipal general fund or county general fund to match any other funds for the purpose of supporting social and community service programs including, but not limited to, juvenile residential treatment centers; juvenile and half-way houses; prenatal care facilities; child day care facilities; domestic violence shelters; sexual assault programs; mentally ill and alcoholics half-way houses; child and adult emergency shelters; elderly home health aides programs.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
