AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 30 LOCATED IN PRENTISS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "JAMIE NEAL GUIN, PCEPA LINEMAN, MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 30 located in Prentiss County, Mississippi, extending for a total distance of approximately one (1) mile, consisting of a distance of one-half (1/2) mile in the easterly direction of Mississippi Highway 30 and a distance of one-half (1/2) mile in the westerly direction of Mississippi Highway 30 from Prentiss County, Mississippi, with the central point of beginning in both the easterly and westerly directions being the location of the utility pole where Jamie Neal Guin, PCEPA lineman, lost his life, shall be known as the "Jamie Neal Guin, PCEPA Lineman, Memorial Highway."
(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
