House Bill 1275

AN ACT TO REQUIRE EVERY GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MISSISSIPPI EMERGENCY ACCESS PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Every governmental entity of the State of Mississippi, including political subdivisions and agencies shall participate in the Mississippi Emergency Access Program (MEAP) in accordance with operating procedures established by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety in coordination with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and local emergency managers.

     SECTION 2.  Section 1 of this act shall be codified as a new section in Chapter 15, Title 33, Mississippi Code of 1972.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
