AN ACT TO PROHIBIT ANY COURT FROM ENTERING AN ORDER PROHIBITING OR RESTRICTING THE USE OF CELL PHONES IN THE OFFICE OF ANY CIRCUIT OR CHANCERY CLERK; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. No court shall be allowed to enter an order prohibiting or restricting the use of cell phones by visitors or attorneys in the office of any circuit clerk or chancery clerk. Any such order which has been entered or may be entered shall be considered null and void.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
