House Bill 1250
AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT PRO BONO REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTORNEYS SHALL NOT APPLY TO ELECTED OFFICIALS WHO ARE ATTORNEYS OR GOVERNMENT ATTORNEYS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Any requirements, whether by rule or statute, for licensed attorneys to provide pro bono legal services shall not apply to any licensed attorney who is an elected official or to any attorney who is employed by the State of Mississippi or any governmental entity in the state.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
