House Bill 1222
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE TO DISTRIBUTE FUNDS FROM THE LAND RECORDS MAINTENANCE FUND, UPON APPROPRIATION BY THE LEGISLATURE, TO THE CITY OF JACKSON TO PROVIDE RESOURCES AND FUNDING ASSISTANCE TO THE CITY FOR FURTHERING THE SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT OF THE TAX-EXEMPT BLIGHTED, ABANDONED AND DILAPIDATED PROPERTIES IN THE CITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Secretary of State's office is authorized to distribute funds from the Land Records Maintenance Fund administered by the Secretary of State, upon appropriation by the Legislature, to the City of Jackson, Mississippi, to provide resources and funding assistance to the city for furthering the successful management of the tax-exempt blighted, abandoned and dilapidated properties in the city.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2017.
