House Bill 1137
AN ACT TO REQUIRE STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING AND PUBLIC COMMUNITY OR JUNIOR COLLEGES TO INCLUDE IN THEIR APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION WHETHER THE POTENTIAL STUDENT PLANS TO LIVE ON CAMPUS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Each state institution of higher learning and public community or junior college of this state shall include in its application for admission an inquiry of whether the potential student plans to live on campus. An institution or college may not house a student off-campus for more than two (2) months who applied for a campus housing.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
