AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 37-13-10, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH ESTABLISHES THE READING SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION AND PROVIDES FOR ITS VARIOUS COMPONENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 37-13-10, Mississippi Code of 1972, which establishes the Reading Sufficiency Program of Instruction and provides for its various components, including the requirement for professional development and in-service training conducted by the State Department of Education, is repealed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
