House Bill 1097

AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 37-9-49, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH CREATES A MISDEMEANOR FOR SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENTS PERMITTING CERTAIN PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS TO BE MADE FROM THE SALARIES OF LICENSED SCHOOL EMPLOYEES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 37-9-49, Mississippi Code of 1972, which creates a misdemeanor for school superintendents permitting certain payroll deductions to be made from the salaries of licensed school employees, is repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
