House Bill 1074

AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO ASSIGN ADDITIONAL HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS TO DESOTO COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING ADDITIONAL SAFETY MEASURES REQUIRED FOR ITS POPULATION INCREASE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Commissioner of Public Safety shall assign additional highway patrol officers to DeSoto County for the purpose of supporting additional safety measures which are necessary due to the sizeable population increase evidenced by the 2010 federal decennial census.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2015.
