House Bill 1020

AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 73-52-2, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROHIBIT PUBLIC BODIES FROM REQUIRING A LICENSEE TO APPEAR IN PERSON TO RECEIVE A DUPLICATE LICENSE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The following shall be codified as Section 73-52-2, Mississippi Code of 1972:

     73-52-2.  A public body, as defined by paragraph (a) of Section 25-61-3, shall not require any person who has been issued a license by that public body to appear in person to receive a duplicate of an existing license granted to the person by the public body.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
