House Bill 1003

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS FROM REDUCING THE WHITE-TAILED DEER POPULATION AS A RESULT OF SUCH DEER TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 OR ANY OF ITS VARIANTS, OR BEING EXPOSED TO THE VIRUS THAT CAUSES COVID-19; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks shall not reduce the white-tailed deer population as a result of such deer testing positive for coronavirus 19 (COVID-19) or any of its variants, or being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
