Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
SECTION 1. (1) The governing authorities of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, in their discretion, may contribute annually not more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), out of any available funds of the city, to the Read by Third Grade, a Tutorial Program For At-Risk Students.
(2) This section shall be repealed from and after July 1, 2021.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE READ BY THIRD GRADE, A TUTORIAL PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK STUDENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
