AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

 

Senate Bill No. 2859

 

BY: Senator(s) Norwood, Blount, Butler, Simmons (12th), Jackson (11th), Jordan, Horhn, Witherspoon, Dawkins, Blackmon, Turner-Ford

 

     Amend line 7 by striking "Medgar Evers Boulevard" and inserting in lieu thereof "Clinton Boulevard"

     FURTHER, amend by inserting the following after line 12 and renumbering subsequent section(s) accordingly:

     SECTION *.  (1)  That segment of Interstate 220 in Hinds County beginning at its intersection with Clinton Boulevard and extending northerly to Medgar Evers Boulevard is designated and shall be known as the "Senator Henry J. Kirksey Memorial Highway."

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of interstate described herein.

     FURTHER, amend line 2 of the title by inserting the following after the semicolon:

TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF INTERSTATE 220 IN HINDS COUNTY AS THE SENATOR HENRY J. KIRKSEY MEMORIAL HIGHWAY;
