AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

 

House Bill No.  747

 

BY: Senator(s) Simmons (12th)

 

     AMEND by inserting the following after line 118:

     (*)  Fees withheld for any of the above reasons may not exceed fifty percent (50%) of the inmate's earned wages before payroll deductions required by law.

     (*)  Any person who has more than eighteen (18) months remaining on his or her sentence may not be considered a suitable candidate for work release employment.  This does not prohibit persons with more than eighteen (18) months remaining on his or her sentence from participation in education or rehabilitative programs as defined in this section.
