AN ACT

To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of youth mentoring day.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.147, to read as follows:

            9.147. January seventeenth of each year is hereby designated as "Youth Mentoring Day" in the state of Missouri. The citizens of this state are encouraged to observe the day with appropriate activities and events to increase awareness of and participation in youth mentoring, and to honor mentors who through friendship, guidance, and encouragement have a lasting positive impact on the youth of our state.
