AN ACT
To amend chapter 190, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to automated external defibrillators.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 190, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 190.093, to read as follows:
190.093. 1. By January 1, 2012, every health spa, as defined in section 407.325, and every facility providing supervised fitness shall have at least one automated external defibrillator (AED) on the premises. The defibrillator shall at all times be deployed in a manner consistent with the requirements prescribed under section 190.092 and in a manner that best provides accessibility to staff, members, and guests. At least one employee per shift during normal hours of operation shall be properly trained on the use of an automated external defibrillator in accordance with section 190.092 and shall be properly trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
2. Nothing in this section shall be construed to apply to a health spa or facility where there are no employees staffing the spa or facility.
