AN ACT

To amend chapter 137, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to property taxes.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 137, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 137.071, to read as follows:

            137.071. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, no tax levied on any real property in this state shall increase above the tax levied on such real property in the previous year by more than five percent, nor shall any tax levied on real property in this state decrease below the tax levied on such real property in the previous year by more than five percent.
