AN ACT

To amend chapter 376, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to health insurance entities.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 376, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 376.008, to read as follows:

            376.008. 1. No hospital, health care facility, health care professional, or group health providers shall organize, own, operate, administer, or have a financial interest in any health maintenance organization, managed care organization, accountable care organization, health carrier, health benefit plan, or other health insurance entity organized to provide health insurance policies and benefits to enrollees.

            2. The provisions of this section shall not apply to:

            (1) Self-insurance; or

            (2) Employment as a medical director or other medical consultant for an entity described in subsection 1 of this section.
