AN ACT

To amend chapter 650, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to telecommunicator training.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 650, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 650.345, to read as follows:

            650.345. 1. Beginning January 1, 2016, any telecommunicator authorized to dispatch emergency medical calls not listed in subsection 1 of section 650.340 shall have completed twelve hours of training from an entity accredited and certified under section 190.131.

            2. Beginning January 1, 2017, any telecommunicator authorized to dispatch emergency medical calls not listed in subsection 1 of section 650.340 shall have completed twenty-four hours of training from an entity accredited and certified under section 190.131. Any telecommunicator that has completed twelve hours of training prior to January 1, 2017 shall only complete twelve additional hours in order to be in compliance with this subsection.

            3. Costs associated with the required training under this section shall be paid by the agency employing the telecommunicator and shall be subject to appropriations.

            4. Any emergency medical response agency as defined in section 190.100 that has an employee that is not in compliance with the provisions of this section shall not be allowed to dispatch emergency medical calls and must consolidate this function with another agency that provides twenty-four hours of dispatching staffing level coverage seven days a week.
