AN ACT
To repeal section 478.170, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof four new sections relating to judicial circuits.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Section 478.170, RSMo, is repealed and four new sections enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 478.170, 478.187, 478.575, and 478.577, to read as follows:
478.170. Beginning January 1, 2013, circuit number thirty-eight shall consist of the [counties] county of Christian [and Taney].
478.187. Beginning January 1, 2013, circuit number forty-six shall consist of the county of Taney.
478.575. 1. Beginning January 1, 2013, there shall be one circuit judge in the thirty-eighth judicial circuit consisting of the county of Christian.
2. The circuit judge who sat as the only circuit judge in the thirty-eighth judicial circuit on December 31, 2012, shall, beginning January 1, 2013, be the circuit judge in Christian County in the thirty-eighth judicial circuit and shall hold office for the remainder of the term to which he or she was elected or appointed, and until his or her successor is elected and qualified.
478.577. Beginning January 1, 2013, there shall be one circuit judge in the forty-sixth judicial circuit consisting of the county of Taney who shall be elected in 2012.
