AN ACT

To amend chapter 210, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to abuse and neglect hotlines.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 210, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 210.146, to read as follows:

            210.146. The division shall establish a process to receive reports of elder abuse and neglect through the child abuse and neglect hotline during the hours when the elder abuse and neglect hotline is not operational. The department of social services and the division shall establish a process to automatically transfer telephone calls that are received through the elder abuse and neglect hotline during the hours when the elder abuse and neglect hotline is not operational to the child abuse and neglect hotline. The division shall ensure that any such reports received through the child abuse and neglect hotline are subject to the same confidentiality requirements and other provisions regarding elder abuse and neglect reports under chapter 660. The division shall provide training in elder abuse and neglect to all child abuse and neglect hotline employees.
