AN ACT

To amend chapter 196, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the labeling of food.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 196, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 196.147, to read as follows:

            196.147. 1. All food and food products, including but not limited to livestock or livestock products, poultry or poultry products, or milk or dairy products, sold in this state that are derived from cloned animals shall be labeled indicating that they are or contain products derived from cloned animals.

            2. As used in this section, "cloned animal" shall mean an animal produced by replacing all the genetic material in an egg with a mature cell containing the complete genetic code from the donor.
