1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the St. Cloud Cathedral High School girls dance team on
1.3winning the 2024 Minnesota State High School League Class A dance team
1.4state championship, Jazz Division.
1.5WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.6sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.7WHEREAS, the St. Cloud Cathedral High School dance team participated in the 2024
1.8Minnesota State High School League Class A girls dance team state tournament on February 16,
1.92024, at the Target Center in Minneapolis; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Crusaderettes, one of six teams to advance to the finals in the Jazz Division
1.11and the High Kick Division, won the championship in the Jazz Division, successfully defending
1.12their 2023 jazz title and claiming their fourth overall state win; and
1.13WHEREAS, St. Cloud Cathedral danced to Foreigner's "Cold As Ice" in their
1.14championship-winning performance, in which they incorporated five consecutive spins into their
1.15routine; and
1.16WHEREAS, St. Cloud Cathedral has established a dynasty in the Class A dance team state
1.17competition, Jazz Division, having now won the last three championships; and
1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.19congratulations are extended to the members of the St. Cloud Cathedral High School girls dance
1.20team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.22enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.23Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of St.
1.24Cloud Cathedral High School.
